Smile Leadership are currently seeking to appoint an interim Deputy Headteacher to join a SEN specialist school based in Walsall, West Midlands from October half term. We are currently supporting them in their search for the right candidate and all applicants will be short-listed in partnership with the school’s own recruitment policy. This position is offered on a full time, interim basis and is expected to last at least one term. There will be the opportunity to apply on a more permanent basis later in the academic year. For this role, the school wish to appoint an experienced Deputy Head to help them on their journey out of 'inadequate'. Successful applicants must have recent senior leadership experience, preferably in a SEN setting, although candidates with SEN experience in a mainstream school will also be considered. This particular school is an educational setting catering for pupils who are MLD from the ages of 7 - 16 however the majority of pupils have additional needs including SLD, autism and behavioural difficulties. Experience across KS2, KS3 and KS4 would be beneficial, however it is not essential. All pupils are taught in small class sizes which the additional benefit of a teaching assistant. We are looking for someone reliable who likes a challenge.
