Summary Job Advert About the QM Academy The QM Academy is a new department at Queen Maryand its purpose is to provide development for academic staff. Guided by theuniversity's 2030 strategy and associated enabling plans the QM Academy willput in place a training programme that enables academic staff to deliver aninclusive educational environment where students flourish and reach their truepotential. The QM Academy will offer skills training and developmentopportunities to academic staff at all stages of their career, from teachingassistants through to the professoriate. About the Role The Administrative Officerco-ordinates and delivers the administration of the QM Academy. They will havea varied workload, ensuring efficiency and high levels of customer servicesacross a broad range of activities. As the QM Academy is a new team within theuniversity there will be a wide range of processes that need to be created andimplemented. The post-holder will be responsible for record keeping,implementation of learning management systems, events organisation, taughtprogrammes administration, and a range of other administrative activity relatedto the QM Academy. The post-holder willneed to exercise excellent communication skills as the work will involveliaison with a wide-range of stakeholders. The role has line management responsibility for the QM AcademyAdministrative Assistant. About You You will have significantadministrative experience, ideally from working in a higher educationenvironment, together with excellent organisational skills and the ability tomulti-task and prioritise competing responsibilities. With a close eye for detail you will be ableto set-up new record keeping systems and provide clear reports using data fromthese systems. Good IT skills areessential, including competence in, and experience of using, standard Microsoftsoftware packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience of using contentmanagement systems to maintain websites. Experience of programme administration (including understandingregulations, examination board preparation and use of marks entry systems) isdesirable, but training and development can be given to support the post-holderwith this element of the role. Experience of direct interaction with clients andthe ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders is essential to therole.
