This role attracts the Duty Senior Nurse (DSN) allowance of £3,000 PA. The core function of the DSN is to operationally manage the hospital; 4 acute wards, 2 older adults wards, PICU & Place of Safety, on a rotational basis. You will be responsible for ensuring safe staffing across the wards, be the first responder to emergencies including fires, and be contacted with calls or queries that do not relate to specific inpatients or wards. The role is broad and varied and gives a great opportunity to develop your leadership and problem solving skills with the opportunity to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of professionals and teams. You will be required to fulfil this role on a rotated basis that is shared across other band 6 to 8 grades. About you: You will be an enthusiastic and experienced registered mental health nurse with a passion for caring and advocating for patients with complex needs. You will have excellent communication and people skills, a warm personality and the resilience to help us transform our patients' lives. You will have a good understanding of acute mental health treatment and legislation and be a calm and confident leader who is committed to empowering team members to be their best by creating a culture of continuous professional improvement. You will be proactive, promoting seamless care delivery across the multi-disciplinary team, building partnerships and collaborating with support services. What's next?
