Here at UCLH we aim to provide a standard of care that we would want for our own family and friends. Last year the Emergency Department cared for nearly 142,000 patients, making it one of the busiest departments in London, with more than half this number seen in our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). We performed above our peers, and were in the top quartile, for The Emergency Department Family & Friends test with patients saying they would highly recommend our department.
With an ever growing demand for our emergency and urgent care services we are seeking an experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) to expand and develop our Emergency Nurse Practitioners workforce.
The Emergency Department provides ready access to emergency nursing and medical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our clinical services treat the wide range of problems with which patients present as an emergency or urgently, from life-threatening conditions to minor injury and illness, in all age groups. The UTC is a fully integrated area within the Emergency Department, and ENPs work collaboratively with both GPs and ED Consultants.
We are currently undergoing an exciting redevelopment of our Emergency Department - which will provide a world class environment for emergency care. The new Urgent Treatment Centre opened in January 2018, allowing increased capacity and improved services for our growing number of patients.
So why join UCLH...?
The expansion of our ENP service is part of an initiative to broaden and strengthen our multidisciplinary clinical workforce.
We have a reputation as a centre of clinical excellence.
Our hospital is in a great central London location.
We have new facilities and state-of-the-art medical technology.
We have a wide range of career opportunities including trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) roles.
Based in the busy West End of London, we have a vibrant, close knit team and lively working atmosphere, with quick and easy transport links to all our sites. We have an extensive portfolio of in-house training and aim to provide a spectrum of personal development through to clinical excellence and leadership skills. We believe that staff who feel valued and are engaged in the organisation deliver better outcomes for our patients.
We hold monthly ENP teaching sessions and you will work closely with our Lead ENP and Consultant Nurse who provide support and development for ENPs, trainee ENPs and trainee ACP's. Our ENPs are also supported to spend time in a wide variety of specialist clinic settings, in order to build on, and develop their knowledge and skills, above and beyond their ENP qualification.
We are currently looking for experienced ENPs to join our team in this busy central London teaching hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.
