Summary Role overview The IoD is the UK's number one organisation for business leaders. It provides leading-edge representation, support, networking opportunities, professional development and sets standards for directors and leaders of organisations. A non-party political business organisation founded by Royal Charter in 1903, we have 30,000 members representing a broad spectrum of business across the UK. We have an opportunity within our Membership Development Sales team for a New Membership Manager. This varied role involves contacting different segments of our database with the aim of maintaining and increasing current membership within each region. This is achieved by increasing new applications, renewal of existing memberships and reactivation of ex-memberships. Daily responsibilities will include: * Reaching and exceeding all targets set for each stage of new prospective membership * Providing a Customer Care service for prospects visiting the premises * Dealing with new membership queries from members who are visiting the premises * Attending IoD events to increase recruitment of members * Focus on building relationships with our regional teams to support on membership engagement * Maintain an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of all IoD activities, products and services. * Ensuring all prospective members and current member activities are logged thoroughly in the CRM and sales opportunities implemented accordingly. * Creating a realistic and workable pipeline to ensure all targets are met This role will work closely with our Marketing teams and Regional teams to drive acquisition campaigns and further business development opportunities. The role requires you to have extensive communication skills and be confident at conversing with a diverse mix of Members and prospective members. This role will be ideally suited to an individual who enjoys the social aspect of sales as you will be speaking with potential members on a daily basis to promote all that a membership with the IoD has to offer. You will need to be a 'people person' with a positive attitude and flair for influencing. We expect our Membership Development team members to be exceptionally well presented to represent the IoD brand and have a high level of personal authority. Experience of working within a membership sales environment will be preferable however we are ultimately looking for an individual with incomparable customer service skills with the drive to go the extra mile for our prospective members.
