The Role: An opportunity has arisen for an assistant coordinator/ counsellor to join The Seahorse Project (Community Children and Young Persons Bereavement Service) at St Wilfrid's Hospice. We are looking for a qualified counsellor who shares our values of being compassionate, professional, progressive and respectful and who has experience working with children and young people with complex needs. You will have sound knowledge of childhood bereavement principles and relevant legislation regarding children. Duties include: As a member of the Hospice multi-disciplinary team you will:- Carry your own caseload (1:1 brief intervention counselling support). Have a key role in helping to grow and develop the project. For this you will need excellent project co-ordination and administration skills. Help develop a team of dedicated volunteers for the project and help build key relationships with external partners (e.g. schools). Undertake telephone assessments and working with outcome measures as a model of care will also be part of the role. You will be required to work one day on the weekend as part of your normal working week.
